Hey Everyone,
This is the Final piece I did for my Painting 1 class. The assignment was to do an Alter Ego Self Portrait. I decided to make a White version of me. The Alter Ego represent my dark side, because I have been labled as a black man trying to be white in the black community. It was hard for me, because I carry myself respectfully as an intelligent, humble, nice, and positive person, but what people who have an ignorant mentality say "You ain't white! Why are you trying to come across you better than me?" It's sad that ignorant people think that way. But this is the darkness I always face ever since I was in seventh grade.

So What I did here is I painted myself as a white guy, and leave my eyes to my eye color brown, to symbolize struggle between my identity. The evil malicious look is the look for struggle and I did the background he light pthalo Green to make the Aurora or Mist to make come across that it is sucking me in the darkness.

I wanted to do this piece, to tell all the wonderful and positive people, don't let your dark side get the best of you. We all have a darkness we have to battle, and remember to love yourself always. To all the deviant friends who have been watching me for a while, thank you for your support and keep doing your Artwork. I'm listening and if you need help fighting your dark side, I'm here for you. I have nothing but love for ya'll .
